Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success:
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations,
policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards. - Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped
shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, etc. - Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Prioritize jobs according to the mounting/production schedule.
- Perform tasks associated with De-Mounting / Plate Stripping:
- Carefully remove printing plate and Sticky Back (de-mounter equipment or manually) from the
sleeve without damage. - Operate Plate Cleaning Machine and ensure Plate Sleeves are thoroughly washed.
- Ensure printing plates are prepared and packaged appropriately, organized by package number
and returned to the correct jacket in the designated area. - Return Print Sleeves to the appropriate position in the rack storage system.
- Clean, inventory, and maintain plates, plate sleeves, bridge mandrels, and supplies.
- Perform tasks associated with Plate Mounting:
- Review and interpret work card and job requirements for sleeve size, mounting tape, unwind
direction, etc. - Retrieve and change cylinders/gears per job specification.
- Determine appropriate measurement and cut Photopolymer Plate(s) to size.
- Cut Sticky Back to specified length.
- Operate Mounting Machine safely and efficiently ensuring proper layout, register, and job
requirements. - Capture and record job information, plate mileage, to shop floor data collection system and/or
appropriate forms. - Inspect, prepare and label mounted sleeves for segregation and staging to the Printing
department. - Identify and eliminate root causes defects of plate issues to eliminate press downtime and waste.
- Assist in care and maintenance of equipment with assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
- Support and train new team members.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement projects
Qualifications
When your expertise drives us:
- Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing experience; preferably in a Flexographic printing.
- Computer literate
- Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions
- Ability to read a ruler
- Ability to interpret work order and job specifications written in English
- Customer oriented
- Motivated and collaborative within a team environment
- Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively
- Good work ethic; attendance and punctuality
- Effective communication, coaching & training skills
- Shift flexibility (off-shift and/or 24/7) and ability to volunteer for overtime to cover vacations and surge capacity needs (weekends).
