Pay: $19.90 + .75 shift differential = $20.65

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:



  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, safety gloves etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Review and interpret Print Master to determine job instructions and specifications.
  • Work together with operator and support crews ensuring raw materials, cylinders, plates, doctor blades, inks, and supplies are staged and ready for efficient job changeover.
  • Observe, monitor, and provide basic assistance to Press Operator in the operation of main OCS, HMI panels, and print inspection system.
  • Develop working knowledge of machine conditions such as temperatures, tensions, registration and impression.
  • Ensure accurate capture of time, speeds, materials, defects, downtime, and problems affecting quality and waste.
  • Recognize how to monitor and interpret X-rite and Lab readings.
  • Gain an understanding of effective troubleshooting techniques and how to correct problems related to quality, waste, speed, and throughput.
  • Ensure efficient operation of equipment and assisting in the care and maintenance of equipment with assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coach and train support crews.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:



  • Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years experience as a Flexographic Press Helper or Changeover technician possessing a basic knowledge/understanding of tension control, drying/ventilation, print impression, print deck registration, color rotation, ink dispensing, plate, anilox, and doctor blades and their correlation to product quality and efficiency.
  • Basic knowledge of Flexographic printing and laminating processes.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions
  • Ability to read a ruler
  • Ability to interpret work order and Print Master instructions written in English.
  • Possess visual acuity to sufficiently identify product non-conformances including basic colors and shades.
  • Ability to learn Press Operator job functions and provide coverage as required.
  • Customer oriented
  • Motivated and collaborative within a team environment
  • Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively
  • Good work ethic; attendance and punctuality
  • Effective communication, coaching skills
  • Shift flexibility, readiness to volunteer for weekend overtime, and willingness to learn and operate various types of printing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to mange time effectively and independently.
