Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Recreation Coordinator for our Mille Lacs agency in Onamia, MN!

Position Summary: Join our dedicated team as a Recreation Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our residents through engaging therapeutic recreation services. This position offers an opportunity to develop and implement personalized programs that support residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth, contributing to their overall quality of life.

Schedule and Pay:

  • Full-time onsite opportunity at 407 130th Ave S. Onamia, MN
  • Weekday scheduling; occasional weekends
  • $20-$22 an hour!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement physical education and leisure activity programs tailored to individual client needs.
  • Utilize assessment tools, client survey data, and input from child and family teams to determine personalized recreation plans.
  • Develop, plan, supervise, and actively participate in recreational activities and events that align with departmental goals and support therapeutic treatment objectives.
  • Model and teach healthy leisure values, attitudes, and social skills during all recreational activities and events.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with program staff to integrate recreation treatment goals into overall client care plans.
  • Ensure the safety of clients, staff, and the community during all recreational activities, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

  • High School diploma
  • A minimum of five (5) years' demonstrated experience in a residential treatment setting with youth/adolescents, included some provisions of recreational activities.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field required. Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated experience in a residential treatment setting required, preferably in the provision of recreational activities/programs with youth.
  • Experience working with families and trauma-exposed children and adolescents preferred.
