About the role
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Mission First Solution, you will be a vital part of our Enterprise Tele-Behavioral Health Clinical Services team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) contract. In this remote position, you'll provide virtual behavioral health services to military personnel, focusing on low to moderate acuity patients with acute mental health conditions. You'll work within the military health system model of behavioral health care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
What you'll do
- Perform evidence-based virtual individual and group counseling for patients with acute mental health conditions
- Develop, monitor, and document comprehensive treatment plans to restore and rehabilitate patients with personal, emotional, and mental illnesses
- Consult reference materials like the DSM to identify symptoms, make diagnoses, and develop therapeutic treatment plans
- Exercise clinical judgment in your licensure area and support the behavioral health service line according to policies and procedures
- Demonstrate skilled written and oral communication, especially in case formulation and presentation
- Communicate TRICARE requirements and benefits effectively to your assigned caseload
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records according to service and hospital SOPs
- Recommend hospitalization when applicable and determine service members' fitness for duty
- Complete Active-Duty Profiles, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) evaluations, Military occupation/Mental Status Evaluations (MSE), command consultations, and other administrative processes
- Attend staff meetings for case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
- Update patient charts/information within 72 business hours post-appointment (high visibility or higher acuity patient documentation must be updated by close of business)
- Follow SOPs for duty limitations and weapons access assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to patient safety
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- Current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Clinical Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction
- Two years of post-graduate experience as a Clinical Social Worker using virtual platforms (candidates with less experience will be considered)
- Experience performing bio-psychosocial evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, administering Active-Duty Profiles, and providing psychotherapy
- Experience with Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) evaluations and fitness for duty determinations
- Preferred: Experience as a Clinical Social Worker using virtual platforms within the Military Health System
- Ability to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
This is a remote position and can be performed anywhere in the United States, after training.
