JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the culinary and hospitality experience for four guest houses in the Cold Spring area. These houses are used to host visiting customers, out-of-state employees, and company leadership meetings. The Private Chef & Guest House Manager will be responsible for meal preparation and menu planning as well as the coordination of guest house operations. They will prepare and serve lunches for leadership meetings held at the guest houses. This position will guide, but not directly supervise, a team of three housekeepers, coordinating schedules and priorities to maintain high standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Plan and prepare meals for visiting customers, employees, and leadership meetings (primarily lunches with occasional breakfasts or dinners as needed)
  • Design menus around seasonal ingredients and dietary preferences or restrictions
  • Source high-quality ingredients locally whenever possible and manage food inventory and purchasing
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen, pantry, and other items (linens, toiletries, beverages, snacks, etc.) at each location
  • Oversee the readiness and appearance of four guest houses, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and welcoming for Coldspring guests
  • Guide and coordinate a team of three housekeepers by setting priorities, schedules, and quality expectations (no direct supervision)
  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival, ensuring a seamless, professional experience
  • Communicate with the supervisor regarding guest schedules, preferences, and special requests


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Culinary degree or training is a plus, but the combination of a high school diploma/GED and one year of experience is required



SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proven experience as a private chef, restaurant chef, or similar culinary role
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning, nutrition, and seasonal ingredients
  • Excellent organization skills and attentional to detail
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and use discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming, service orientated approach
  • Experience guiding or coordinating a team is a plus (no formal management is required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
