Licensing Sales Specialist

Group Practices

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation's leading advocacy organization for children's health, is seeking a customer-focused sales professional to assist with implementing institutional licensing sales strategies and tactics for AAP's digital content. This role will set up, maintain, and support sales of institutional access licenses to U.S. and international pediatric group practices and clinics, as well as U.S. schools and state public health clinics. Reporting to the Manager of Global Institutional Licensing, this non-commission sales role will help maximize revenue and ensure that sales and financial goals are achieved.

Some duties include:

  1. Negotiate site licenses with group practice/clinic customers. Manage and execute renewal and new acquisition strategies for these licenses.
  2. Maintain and facilitate the submission process for institutional licensing inquiry forms. Respond to inquiries from group practices and clinics and escalate sales-related inquiries to the institutional sales team. Track volume of inquiries and team responses and provide regular reports to management team.
  3. Support pre- and post-sales operational support, including maintaining accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities within Salesforce.
  4. Prepare customer invoices accurately and assist with monitoring site license payments and renewals. Provide support to both new and existing customers as required.
  5. Liaise with subscription agents regarding institutional site licensing as requested and create monthly subscriber reports.
  6. Collaborate with the AAP application support and institutional licensing teams to provide prompt assistance to customers experiencing online access issues.
  7. Assist in reviewing licensing guidelines and pricing to ensure that they meet customer and AAP needs to maximize market penetration and revenue.
  8. Set up product trials for new prospects and send usage statistics to institutions and group practices upon request.
  9. Collaborate with sales and marketing staff in development of targeted marketing campaigns and coordinated marketing materials for exhibits and sales agents worldwide.
  10. Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Cross train with appropriate staff as assigned.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Needed:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  2. At least two years' related experience in sales, licensing, and/or marketing required, including cultivating and maintaining solid business relationships. Experience with digital resources preferred.
  3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, diplomacy, critical thinking, and written/ oral communication skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and respected. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, internet research, and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with online subscriptions, hosting services, database applications (e.g., Salesforce, netForum), document collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint), and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., WebEx, Teams) preferred. Some travel and evening/weekend work required.

Hybrid work environment of 40% of work time in the office per month.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $70,368.96 - $74,278.36. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
