Responsibilities

We are looking to add a Scrum Master to our team of talented professionals!

The Scrum Master will perform duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area within a department(s) which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:

    Conduct and guide daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure the team adheres to the Scrum process
  • Identify and resolve any obstacles, distractions, or issues that hinder the development team's progress, allowing them to focus on delivering value.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to our team - helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently
  • Work with the stakeholders and scrum team write user stories which are independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small and testable
  • Responsible for ensuring user stories include validation criteria which reasonably covers all areas necessary for complete testing of the new functionality
  • Act as an interface and customer advocate to ensure customer, stakeholder and user needs are being addressed.
  • Documents workflows, Standard Operating Procedures, and processes based on requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate exchange meetings to determine needs of customers, as well as to determine the impact of changes
  • Document requirements and provide final technical review and validation of requirements
  • Work with stakeholders and the project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Provides training and demonstrations as required.
  • Collaborate with and support developers during their design and development efforts to provide support for their analysis of the story
  • Provide additional support and guidance to clients during the implementation phase to include development of training resources
  • Manage your team's participation in Program Increment Planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, scrum meetings and other agile activities
  • Capacity to manage timelines, coordinate efforts, and ensure the team's work aligns with priorities.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years with BS/BA, Minimum 6 years with MS/MA, Minimum 3 years with PhD
  • 3 years of experience on the technical aspects of applications development projects through the full system development life cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile Scrum principles and practices.
  • Experience in modern requirement gathering techniques, including creation of user stories, epics, and themes in Jira or similar application
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies
  • Experience documenting workflows and processes based on requirements.
  • Experience documenting requirements and validation of requirements.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
  • SAFe certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work with cross functional teams including senior level individuals.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Attention to detail, quick learner, have a positive attitude, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess critical thinking skills, reading and interpretation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Able to work closely with all project stakeholders such as business users, project managers, and business analysts while delivering solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with varying priorities, based on a team building culture.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
