Position Summary/ Department Summary:
The Resource Room Coordinator participates in the facilitation of diversional activities and support programs to meet patients'/caregivers' psychosocial needs/assists in the adjustment to health care experiences/serves as member of multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Helping plan and coordinate daily support activity programs for patients and families of The Benderson Family Heart Center.
  • Assisting with the psycho/social adjustment to inpatient hospitalization by understanding patients' and families' needs and facilitate appropriate supports and guidance.
  • Conferring with staff to provide psycho-social support assistance and make appropriate referrals to staff of multidisciplinary team as needed.
  • Drafting written communication with donors, families, other staff.
  • May assist in the preparation of reports and records on program activities.
  • Serving as a member of the Resource Room and interdisciplinary team and communicating issues as they arise and recognizes an environment that fosters kindness and team work.


Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Associate's degree in social work, Education, Child Life, Social Services. Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of human development theories, principles, and experienced based knowledge
  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, occasional weekend, 24 hours a week (4x 6 hour days), 100% Onsite
Preferred: Monday, Wed, Friday + Saturday (11am-3pm)
