Overview

LMI is seeking a highly qualified Software Test Engineer to support the System Team within the Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. This position is on a cross-functional Agile team within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing strategies, automation, and collaboration with other cross-functional Agile teams.

Responsibilities

    Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases based on software requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand system functionality and testing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs; work with development/integrations teams to resolve defects.
  • Perform regression, integration, performance, and system testing as needed.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure software meets quality standards and complies with applicable security and performance criteria


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software testing and/or quality assurance.
  • 2+ years of experience in direct support to the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Active DoDI 8140 certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+).
  • Proficiency with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).
  • ISTQB or other software testing certifications.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., (Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE) SAFe Agilist, SAFe DevOps.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required (e.g., quarterly for PI Planning, technical syncs, and major delivery milestones).

Target salary range: $82,000 - 141,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
