Position Overview

The Bag Machine Operator II is responsible for operating and maintaining the bag lines to safely deliver the highestquality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible through the use of effective manufacturingmethods.

Schedule: Morning


Pay rate: $22.34/hr

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to:
o Company and facility Policies
o Safety - LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
o Quality - PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures
o SOPs - Methods for performing work
o SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean)
o Good Manufacturing Practices
o Food/Safety Security
o HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
o Food Regulatory and Customer Specifications


Responsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality
Responsible for packing good quality bags into box, capping, and applying tubes as needed, helicalinsertion, and applying splice tape on helical bags and two out machines, as per bag specificationsfrom a standing position with breaks every two hours.
Responsible to ensure that box and tote counts are accurate as per the bag specification
Responsible for pushing box of bags (approximately 70 to 75 pounds) from packers' conveyor to boxconveyor
Ensure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is reported to the
Shift Leader to be appropriately destroyed or placed on hold for the Quality Facilitator's review anddecision


Work as a valuable team member throughout the production room to accomplish the business goals:
o Help operators as needed (including cleaning machines and PM's)
o Help other Inspector/Packers if needed when machine is down
o Learn to pack all bag specifications and at all machines
o Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and technical resources to ensure that
issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the line.2
o Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements


Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues
Complete all documentation accurately
Ask for help when the need arises
Train new Inspector/Packers in the proper evaluation and packing of bags in accordance with KeyOperating Procedures

Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Specific skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to read and interpret standard measuring tapes. Ability to work safely
    and effectively with minimal supervision.
    Years and up in machine experience.
