As a part of the Sanitation Team, you are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. As a Sanitation Technician, you must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the sanitation technician category. You must be able to lift at least 50lb. You must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards. You will be a part of the Food Defense Team. Essential Functions
- Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including complying with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment to project the safety and health of others.
- May clean floors, lights, walls, windows, ceilings, restrooms, breakroom, coolers, wash rack, equipment, e.g., mixer, oven, hand truck, in various areas of the bakery.
- Water is heavily used in our manufacturing environment.
- Properly cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
- Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize lines of equipment and environment pre- and post-production, with use of food-safe sanitation practices.
- Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager as soon as possible.
- Understands and complies with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations.
- Work safely; follow proper lock out/tag out procedure where applicable.
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, coworkers, etc.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
- May perform other duties not listed.
Tools and Equipment. All tools and equipment which are required to be used by the employees shall be supplied and kept in repair by the Employer at no cost to the employee. These items must be kept on the premises. Minimum Requirements - Ability to work off-shifts.
Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Previous safety training preferred.
- Previous sanitation experience preferred.
- Prior food industry experience a plus.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
