Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry. Build Connections By: Working alongside our Inbound Transportation Analyst team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas: Communications Finance Accounting Human Resources IT Marketing & Merchandising Supply Chain Communications Build a Career: In the Inbound Transportation Analyst department by: Communicates and confirms load dispatches to the freight carrier or GFS driver. Secures carrier or GFS resources on an as needed situational basis, including expedited shipments and seasonal activities. Ensures pickups occur on time as determined by the dates on the purchase orders. Confirms pickup dates of the load with the carrier or GFS driver. Follows-up on load status and communicates in a timely manner to Analysts all necessary information of load status. Collaborates with Analysts, operations, receiving, and our carriers to maximize efficiency of loads. Manages the communication and flow of product through Capstone consolidation points. Develops and maintains good relations with suppliers, carriers, internal and external customers. Evaluates lane based activities to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
