Program Representative Interns take pride in the support they provide to protect our nation in the design, engineering, build, and delivery of world-class submarines. You will be working side by side with a diverse group of the top men and women shipbuilders in our industry working as your mentors while providing you with the opportunity to gain real-life experience in the workforce, applying the skills you have acquired in college.

This program requires an 8-week commitment during the Summer 2026 Season.

Participation in this program requires medical screening, passing a drug test, and potential DOD Investigation.

This is not a remote opportunity.

All applicants have the potential to be placed at any of the following locations: Groton CT (Shipyard and/or Kings Hwy), North Stonington CT, or New London, CT.

Life Cycle Support (LCS) - Summer Internship

Job Description:

The Life Cycle Support (LCS) Directorate Program Office Interns, working with senior staff and mentors, will support COLUMBIA class submarines, VIRGINIA class submarines, including the VIRGINIA Payload Module, the Maintenance, Modernization, and Waterfront organization, or the Life Cycle Support program. Activities include the management of design, construction, and overhaul & repair activities through the development, improvement, and utilization of metrics to optimize program performance, contract and product development and management, shipyard problem resolution, and other various technical activities.

Qualifications

To be qualified for this position:

    Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
  • Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
  • At minimum students must have completed their freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2026 to September 2026.
  • Selected candidates will be responsible for establishing housing and reliable transportation for the duration of their intern assignment.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in the field of Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Data Management, or Business Information Systems, or Engineering.
