Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking a National Strategic Customer Manager.

The primary function of the Strategic CustomerManager (SCM) is to increase market share within a select group of assigned accounts that currently do, or have the potential to, generate in excess of $100,000 per year in rental income for Ground Protection (GP), and which currently or have the potential to span across GP sales territories, Profit centers, and regions or perform work at the national level. This will be accomplished by increasing opportunities and sales through exceptional customer account management, increasing GP product and service awareness, and effective management of the corporate account office. Evaluate and recommend new potential customers to the program. This position will also serve a mentor/liaison role in the overall go to market sales strategy for the accounts by working with Ground Protection's local OSRs and coordinating efforts between the Branch Managers, Regional Managers, GM, and Director. This will also be accomplished by establishing and leveraging relationships with other Sunbelt General Tool and Specialty regions, profit centers, and their key stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Generate annual revenue for Ground Protection from assigned managed accounts in excess of $8M per year.
  • Management of existing customer relationships and new account development.
  • Effectively manage 10-25 assigned accounts of varying status with Ground Protection - undeveloped, underdeveloped and developed.
  • Will serve in a leadership/mentor capacity to the GP OSR sales force
  • Make office and field visits to build on or create new relationships, develop access designs, accurately develop scopes of work, and prepare necessary quotes and professional proposals.
  • Discuss upcoming jobs and equipment requirements, disseminate appropriate information and delegate opportunities to local GP OSRs as appropriate.
  • Act as a resource for local and national information.
  • Promote the Ground Protection specialty across the Sunbelt enterprise.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues including contract, invoice, service, etc.
  • Regular and effective use of Customer 360 in managing assigned accounts
  • Lead the bidding process and respond to RFPs, RFIs, working with GP leadership and Sunbelt contract's team as appropriate in doing so.
  • Develop impactful relationships with assigned accounts at all levels of the organization and facilitate GP OSR relationship building at the local or project level as appropriate.
  • Create and negotiate master agreements that meet Sunbelt and GP criteria.
  • Review the customer's account with accounts receivable on a monthly basis and resolve any issues.
  • Participate in national, regional and local business development meetings, events and conferences, internally or industry, on behalf of Ground Protection and SBR.

Other requirements:

  • At least 5 years previous sales experience and a demonstrated history of sales and account management success.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Knowledge of different phases of construction, equipment applications, features, benefits, operation and specifications required, and an ability to review and understand plan sets and construction drawings
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with effective supervisory skills.
  • Able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel.
  • Computer literate, including Windows, Adobe Acrobat, and the Microsoft Office suite of products, and an ability to learn and utilize new software
  • Local, regional and national travel of 50-75%

Base Pay Range: $99,973.00 - 137,462.60

Total compensation package includes base pay, company vehicle, and robust commission plan.
