Job Summary: VersaTech is seeking a
Senior Computer Programmer with experience supporting government organizations in software development, operations, maintenance, and disaster recovery across distributing systems. The successful candidate will support the Maryland Register of Wills (ROW) by providing full lifecycle development and infrastructure support across 25 locations.
Salary: $95,000 to $125,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.
Location: VersaTech HQ located in Savage, MD.
Required Skills:
- Ten (10) years' experience in providing application development support in a multi-user, LAN-based, Microsoft Windows environment.
- Five (5) years' experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Professional Edition suite with Visual C#. development programming platforms & utilities.
- Five (5) years' experience installing, configuring, operating, managing, and troubleshooting problems with the Highview Imaging Application.
- Five (5) years' experience in providing help desk/application support services to a minimum of 300 users.
Duties:
- Develop, manage, maintain, and evaluate state-of-the-art computer hardware, software, and software development tools; evaluate their ability to support specific requirements and interface with other equipment and systems; determine potential and actual bottlenecks; propose recommendations for their elimination; and make recommendations for systems improvements that will result in optimal hardware and software usage.
- Provide IT systems, hardware, and software support and maintenance for IT systems.
- Perform break fix of identified IT issues.
- Provide support, management, and installation services for desktop and server operating systems.
- Provide maintenance and modifications to the application as directed, including developing new functions and applications.
- Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and tools.
- Interpret software requirements to develop design specifications, code, and integrate and test software components.
- Develop requirements for an existing system, including the definition, design, security requirements, programming, and testing stages of development.
- Deploy, upgrade, configure and implement new, enhanced, and upgraded applications across all 25 ROW locations.
- Develop and maintain web-based and eGovernment applications to enhance the ROW website.
- Lead the design and implementation of disaster recovery replication processes.
- Conduct performance measurements and analysis to optimize network and application performance.
- Configure and operate email systems in coordination with other technical staff.
- Collaborate with other contractors and stakeholders to resolve integration issues and ensure end-to-end system functionality.
- Develop and execute test plans for application and system changes.
- Troubleshoot existing application code using standard debugging practices.
- Participate in regular planning and monthly status meetings to provide technical updates.
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
General Experience:
- Must have five (5) years of computer experience in at least two (2) of the following disciplines: systems analysis, systems programming, application programming, or equipment analysis.

- Experience with email system configuration and management.
- Prior experience working across multiple contractor/stakeholder environments.
