Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $94160 - $124762 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Lean Performance? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Lean Performance Systems team. As a Lean Performance Systems (LPS) Consultant, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

For this role we are looking for an LPS Consultant to join our Lean Performance Systems team. The Lean Performance Systems organization has overall responsibility for the development and deployment of S&C's Lean Performance Systems. Team members in this group provide a variety of services to all S&C organizations including improvement project leadership, coaching, facilitation, training, and subject matter expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • LPS Project Management: Lead and manage targeted improvement projects by developing and executing a detailed project plan that incorporates observation-based data, LPS thinking, and KPI-linked targets, while coordinating team activities and managing schedules to overcome barriers and deliver results. Support larger change management activities as required by senior management.
  • LPS Coaching: Deliver high-quality LPS training and coaching to Team Leads & Supervisors, ensuring they understand and correctly apply LPS principals, tools, and their roles in leading LPS activities, thereby facilitating learning and the practical application of LPS methodology.
  • Standards Development: Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of LPS Standards, advocate for KPI-driven management, and contribute to the creation of training materials while promoting continuous improvement and proper use of LPS methods across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate LPS principals into various departments and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
  • Metric Reporting: Regularly report out on progress and impact of LPS Projects. Help identify key metrics that are essential to project success and adjust activities as needed based on how key metrics response to LPS activities/interventions.
  • LPS Team Mentorship: Coach, train, and mentor other members of the LPS team, promoting a high standard of work, adherence to project goals, and continuous professional development within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new developments in lean manufacturing and make recommendations on how to incorporate new practices into departmental practices and LPS strategies.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

Education:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or equivalent work experience
  • Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, or relevant field)

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Required:

  • 6-10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or other manufacturing support role, including
  • 3-5 years of relevant supervisory experience.
  • Experience in optimizing material flow and equipment arrangement on the factory floor.
  • Demonstrated success in leading lean improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, tools, and methods to achieve measurable KPI improvement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadlines.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interview, facilitate, and collaborate with diverse subject matter experts and stakeholders in a respectful manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated experience responding to customer inquiries in a useful and timely manner.
  • Ability to influence others and use the ability to influence in order to reach consensus and overcome resistance to change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with supervisors and team members, adjusting communication approaches based on the audience.
  • Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills and an ability to identify potential issues and seek support for resolution.
  • Ability to train and mentor other team members, both inside and outside of the LPS team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing and assembly environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience developing area improvement strategies to meet business KPI targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost)
  • Experience and/or skilled in promoting, facilitating, and managing change.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting - Continuously required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based tasks for hours at a time.
  • Walking - Occasionally required to walk moderate distances.
  • Communiation - Continuously required to talk and hear or otherwise, in person and by phone/conference calls.
  • Observation / Eyesight - Frequently required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors.
  • Lifting - Occasionally required to solo lift supplies weighing from 5 to 20 pounds and some operation of hand carts.
  • Travel - Infrequently required to travel overnight, domestically and internationally, and work extended hours when necessary.

Environmental and Hazardous Conditions

  • Continuously working indoors in an air-conditioned office/manufacturing environment.
