GENERAL SUMMARY: Conducts audits of cardiovascular procedural charges for Henry Ford Hospital. Ensures documented charges are correctly billed and documented in EPIC. Proposes corrective action in charge capture problem areas. Reviews clinical documentation to ensure all records match. Participates in clinical operational reviews. Functions as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II or in a registered nursing role in the Cath/EP lab. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Conducts audits of daily electronic medical records for accuracy of implants, surgical and recovery time stamps. 2. Provides investigation of all charges for accuracy of the EPIC charting and inventory purposes. 3. Recognizes, documents thoroughly research and review and recovers undercharges and adjust overcharges on billing statements. Submits all adjustments to patient accounting for rebilling. 4. Proposes corrective action in charge capture problem areas; conducts in-service training sessions for perioperative staff to improve documentation and cost effectiveness. 5. Analyzes results, identifies trends and patterns, and prepares monthly statistical and narrative reports for various levels of hospital management. Such reports include unrecorded and supported revenue, and observations and recommendations regarding charge capture, documentation, and revenue enhancement. 6. Reviews procedure documentation to ensure required statements are documentation for accurate a full charge capture and quality metrics for abstraction are fully met. Communicates with lab staff and physicians for discrepancies. 7. Maintains of x-ray and hemodynamic systems throughout the Cath lab and EP departments. Assists with upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs. 8. Performs implant registry entry (valves, ASD/VAD, PFO, LAAO, etc.). 9. Patient phone calls post procedure for same day discharge. 10.Same day discharge analysis of patients who qualified for SDD but did not go home. 11. Updates and maintains Sensis and Epic Cupid procedural documentation. 12. Ensures that deadlines are met for state and national registry to maintain CON (Certificate of Need). 13.Prepares Ad Hoc and regularly requested reports from Epic, Sensis, Cardiolab, and other programs as assigned. 14.Prepares and helps to maintain accreditation for the lab. 15.Inputs STEMI and activation info into tracking document and calculates a preliminary door to device time for STEMI patients. Presents info to Cath lab and ED leadership in real time and runs STEMI meeting. 16.Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including but not limited to Cath lab leadership, HVSL leadership, physicians, and more. 17.Functions as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II or in a registered nursing role in the Cath/EP lab. Location: Detroit Hours: Full Time Monday-Friday (6AM start one day a week required) -no weekends- no holidays, no on call Benefits: Full Time EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. * Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography) or graduation from an accredited school of nursing. * Two (2) years of Cath lab experience to gain clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to make informed decisions and present information as applicable. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: * Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Intervention (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) or license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan. * BLS/ACLS.
