This position will provide primary research study data collection for a 5-year NIH funded study using smartphones to remotely collect data from participants in alcohol addiction treatment programs. The Research Specialist will be involved in all aspects of the designated research study, with a focus on day-to-day operational infrastructure.

The Research Specialist will also be supported in pursuing professional development goals related to a career in research and will be expected to attend and participate in lab meetings where we read and discuss academic research. Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
  • Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
  • Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
  • Performs literature reviews and writes reports

Compensation:

The typical starting salary for this position is $44,543 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of part-time or full-time work experience in undergraduate psychology research, working in a research setting and/or with procedural aspects of data collection from human subjects

  • Fluency with the Windows OS and Microsoft office


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with patient or customer interaction

  • Experience documenting procedures, events, or data

  • Experience programming in any language

  • Experience with R, Python, Qualtrics, OnCore, Slack, Asana

  • Previous experience working in addiction treatment, with persons in outpatient mental health, or in clinical trials


Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred degrees and specialization areas: Psychology, Neuroscience, Statistics, Premed, Clinical Trials
