Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, the Community Outreach Specialist works to enhance the quality of life for adults with disabilities and the aging. This position involves strategic planning and implementation of outreach efforts aimed at connecting older adults, their families, and caregivers with vital resources and services. The Specialist acts as a key advocate for the populations served, working to identify and close service gaps, and building strong partnerships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community partners; thereby, helping older adults and adults with disabilities lead healthier, more engaged, and meaningful lives within their homes and communities.
The purpose of this role is to engage with a diverse range of agencies, community members, and stakeholders to organize community events, develop educational programs, and create informational materials to raise awareness about available health, safety, and wellness resources and services. Additionally, the incumbent will manage data and reporting to evaluate program effectiveness and help inform and guide future strategies.
The job functions include:
- Community engagement and networking to build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders that fosters collaboration and support for initiatives.
- Program development and implementation to address community needs that align with organizational goals.
- Advocacy that requires legislative and policy analysis, awareness and educational campaign development; and promotion of community interests through stakeholder engagement.
- Data management to collect, organize, analyze data related to program and community engagement efforts and reporting outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; OR, a Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience in a human services area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local health and social services resources.
- Experience with organizing community events and presentations.
- Experience with data management, collection and analysis.
- Bi-lingual skills in Spanish and English.

- Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
- Hold or obtain certifications such as CPR if required for assigned position.
