Job Title: Cross Border Solutions Coordinator Job Location: San Diego, CA DHL Global Forwarding manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. In this role, you will be responsible for administering customs and trade compliance plans and processes to provide clearance of freight documentation through the relevant customs authorities, work with customers to guide and advise on custom regulation qualifications in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies. - Documentation and Recordkeeping: Prepare and review customs documentation, including import and export declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required customs paperwork. Maintain accurate records and ensure proper retention of customs-related documents.
- Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on shipment status. Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and addressing concerns effectively.
- Shipment Dispatch: Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of shipments to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Collaborate with drivers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to optimize shipment schedules and allocate resources effectively.
- Shipment Monitoring and Issue Resolution: Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively address any issues that may arise during transit. Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve any shipment-related issues promptly.
- Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including shipment details, delivery status, and customer interactions. Prepare reports as needed to provide insights into operational performance and support decision-making processes.
- Pre-Billing Process: Review and verify shipment documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness before billing. Prepare pre-billing reports, ensuring all necessary information is included for invoicing.
- Billing Collaboration: Collaborate with the billing department to address any discrepancies or issues identified during the pre-billing process. Provide necessary documentation and information to facilitate accurate and timely invoicing.
- Customs Clearance: Coordinate and oversee customs clearance processes, including classification, valuation, and duty/tax determination. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to facilitate timely and accurate customs clearance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, customs laws, regulations, and procedures by staying up-to-date with changes in customs requirements and implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as procurement, logistics, and sales teams, to gather necessary information and resolve customs-related issues. Liaise with customs authorities and external partners as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in customs operations, customs brokerage, or trade compliance within the logistics or supply chain industry preferred
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate customs regulations and resolve customs-related issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, customs authorities, and external partners.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Pay Range: $21.32 - $28.43/hr. (Based on Experience)
