General Description

Duke Integrative Medicine is seeking a Patient Account Associate to become part of our Guest Services/Front Desk team. This role requires a high level of accuracy and performance, critical thinking, excellent communication, and exceptional customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop relationships with customers to gather and process information, resolve issues, ensure accurate reimbursement, and optimize customer satisfaction. Schedule appointments, process referrals, front-desk duties, register guests into programs, assist patients and guests as needed.
  • Gather and process information as needed. Ensure high production levels and quality of work in compliance with DUHS policy standards. Responsibilities may also include managing a work portfolio and meeting revenue expectations.
  • Operate general office equipment, generate letters/emails, work on spreadsheets, and enter and sort data.
  • Work independently, making decisions related to individual work activities. Accountable for personal work activities, with assignments defined by an immediate supervisor or manager. This role does not involve supervising other employees.



Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma with knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles. Some postsecondary education is preferred. Additional training or knowledge of related business is beneficial.

Experience

Two years of experience in hospital access, physician office, billing, and collections, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Capability to work independently and make decisions related to individual work activities
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining professional, service-oriented relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors
