Could you be the full-time onsite Test and Commissioning Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery and seamless integration of railway signaling subsystems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of rail networks worldwide. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, installation, operations, and safety teams), facilitate training and handover processes to operations and maintenance teams, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Ensuring deployment and adherence to Installation and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) processes within the project team,



  • Proactively managing internal interfaces (e.g., engineering, installation) and external technical interfaces (e.g., partners, third parties, customers) for all T&C activities,



  • Leading and executing comprehensive testing of rail communication systems, including wireless radio systems, wired networks, Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Public Address (PA) systems, CCTV, SCADA, and control center communications,



  • Identifying and resolving defects through troubleshooting, log analysis, and detailed test reporting,



  • Driving test execution with a structured and disciplined approach aligned with project milestones,



  • Developing and maintaining commissioning plans, test procedures, and reports, ensuring compliance with contractual and Alstom standards,



  • Collaborating with design, installation, and operations teams to ensure commissioning readiness and smooth execution.

  • Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent,



  • Experience in rail communications testing and commissioning,



  • Knowledge of rail technologies and standards: wireless radio systems, wired networks, Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Public Address (PA) Systems, CCTV, SCADA and control center communications,



  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls),



  • Proficiency with OTDR, protocol analyzers, and RF test equipment,



  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills,



  • Adaptability to high-pressure, fast-paced environments,



  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international) and work flexible hours (incl. night, weekends and holidays).
