Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy, frameworks and policies to ensure the Bank's ability to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disruptions. Oversees the identification, impact assessment, and scenario testing of critical business services while ensuring alignment with industry and internal risk frameworks. Collaborates with business partners and stakeholders along with Risk Management, Technology, Cybersecurity, Third-Party Risk, Business Continuity and Crisis Management teams to embed resilience into service delivery models, define impact tolerances, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for resilience governance and reporting and ensuring visibility into the resilience posture of critical business services.

This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing operational resilience capabilities to protect associates, customers, products, and services. Develop and lead an enterprise-wide resilience approach to addressing the continuity of business operations throughout the overall FCB organization. Leads a team that is responsible for helping the lines of business prepare and adapt to changing conditions and withstand and recover rapidly from disruptions while achieving safety and soundness, consumer financial protection and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules. Partners with business units to develop business continuity plans including identification of critical business processes, assessment of their risk tolerance and sensitivity to a business disruption, supports response and recovery activities, establishes business continuity testing and exercise methodologies, and conducts training.


Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy - Provides leadership and direction for developing enterprise resilience program, including input to scenarios that involve invoking countermeasures and containment strategies. Collaborates with required governance structure including task force or working groups as well as key stakeholders and senior leadership on resilience and recovery operations and measures across the Bank to identify emerging threats.
  • Enterprise Resilience - Develop and implement the strategic direction for operational resilience programs, business continuity and crisis management ensuring that teams across the enterprise maintain and continuously improve on incident management procedures. Guide functional teams and stakeholders through crisis and incident management processes from crisis initiation through resolution. Provide guidance and direction to operational resilience teams on business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities.
  • Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team policies, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes department achievements by providing professional development.
  • Communication - Serve as the enterprise source of information for board, executive, senior leadership and associates, internal communications and regulatory agencies for crisis and critical incident events.
  • Crisis Management - Coordinate and manage the enterprise response to crisis events. Manage and partner with cross-functional teams in the remediation of critical incidents and events. Identify the potential implications of crisis events and/or critical incidents for the enterprise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Enterprise resilience, recovery, business continuity, crisis/incident management, technology or risk management

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Enterprise resilience, recovery, business continuity, crisis/incident management, technology or risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of building risk-based operational resilience function,
  • Leadership and strategic planning skills,
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational resilience, business continuity, resilience technology enablement and crisis management programs,
  • Ability to develop and execute activities against operational resilience framework,
  • Ability to provide effective communications across varying levels of the organization
  • Large Financial Institution experience

If hired in North Carolina the base pay for this position is generally between $151,920 and $225,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
