Job Posting: Data Center Team Lead (GPU Cluster Deployment) Location: Onsite - Mt. Pleasant, WI Schedule: several open shifts. Day and night shift open. Team Focus: GPU cluster deployments across MKE 03 and 04 data center sites in Southeastern Wisconsin. Position Overview We are seeking several skilled Data Center Team Leads to join our IT operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining data center infrastructure, performing server and GPU installations, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hyperscale environments, team leadership, and project management. Key Responsibilities Technical Operations: * Perform Level 1 and Level 2 technician tasks as needed. * Move, inspect, install, and cable servers and switches per wire maps. * Ensure proper cable bundling and verify connectivity with network administrators. * Install components (NICs, drives, memory), unbox and prep servers. * Audit servers and consumables. * Troubleshoot server issues, replace parts, and manage returns. * Update firmware and configure IPs and login credentials. * Support network admins with cabling, optics, and hardware replacements. * Temporarily rack and stack devices for remote configuration. * Deploy and configure GPUs in servers. * Perform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, networking, and cabling. Leadership & Project Management: * Provide advanced troubleshooting and ticket resolution. * Act as liaison between team members and management. * Prioritize and manage team workload. * Review build documentation and validate materials. * Direct build activities and ensure alignment with data center standards. * Act as escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 teams. * Design and implement training paths for team members. * Coordinate with other teams for project builds and escalations. * Lead and mentor deployment and operations teams. * Monitor project timelines and provide updates to project managers. * Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. Requirements * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. * 4+ years of experience in a hyperscale data center environment. * Proven experience as a technical lead with supervisory responsibilities. * Project management experience (certification is a plus). * Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. * Familiarity with structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber optics, and optical testing. * Understanding of storage devices and network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-3). * Experience managing work through a ticketing system (ITSM). * Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE as needed. * Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays. * Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications * CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT, CCNA, MCP/MSCE (or equivalent experience). * Windows OS experience. * Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash). * Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). * OSHA30 or higher certification. * Familiarity with ITIL Framework (Change Management, Problem Management).
