Silgan Closures, a global company in sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Technical Sales Manager at our Downers Grove, IL Corporate Office. In this role, you will guide strategic efforts to grow revenue, expand into new markets, and win national and multinational accounts across our plastic and metal closure solutions for the food and beverage industry.

• Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 based on education and experience

What you will do:

• Perform technical feasibility assessments and market analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and in new and existing markets.
• Develop and maintain technical relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on engineering specifications and performance requirements.
• Leverage data modeling and trend analysis tools to monitor market dynamics and inform product development roadmaps in new and existing markets.
• Apply solution engineering principles and technical negotiation strategies to address client objections and deliver optimized products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration, onboarding, and technical support for new deployments.
• Negotiating national and international contracts and proposals
• Managing receivables and optimizing working capital
• Partner with Customer Account Specialists to align supply chain and inventory with customer expectations
• Being part of a team that values innovation, integrity, and sustainability

What you'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of business-to-business sales experience in packaging, manufacturing or food or beverage sectors
• Proven success in new business development and sales strategy execution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• A self-starter mindset with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Ability to study market data and convert insights into actionable plans
