Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated base pay rate for this position is $47,800- $59,800 per year. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Technologist! The Manufacturing Technologist's primary responsibility will be to create and maintain routings and BOM's for fabricated sheet metal parts. Expertise in processing of sheet metal components will be necessary, as well as good computer skills. This position will work closely with engineering teams to review prints for manufacturability and with CNC teams who create cutting and forming programs for the parts. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering and production teams to documents standard processes and work instructions.
- Process new and updated part ECO's.
- Maintain BOM's for parts, including raw material and tooling requirements.
- Communicate with product designers regarding concerns or issues with parts to be processed
- Be detail oriented, so as to provide correct routings and standard work, as they define the process used to manufacture parts.
- Assist VSE's with improvement projects, including but not limited to rate updates, new resources, and corresponding routing updates.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with other
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager
- Work any shift and work overtime, including daily, weekends, and holidays as required
Education: Required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of current manufacturing or related experience, with 3 years of sheet metal experience.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP software
- Good computer skills, Excel & web based applications
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprint and CAD Drawings
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate with various stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of Lean Principals
- Basic understanding of Value Stream maps
Preferred
- Experience with 3DX or other PLM software
- Ability to search and open drawings in CAD software.
- Simple project management tracking.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Continuously required to stand and perform tasks
- Sitting: Occasionally required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based/assembly tasks
- Walking: I'm going to have a hard time pulling my VSE's loose from setting up assembly operations.
- Lifting and Carrying: Infrequently required to solo lift and/or carry items and team lift and/or carry items, exercising sound judgment to employ manual handling or machine lifts where required and risk assessments, if appropriate
- Low Posture: Infrequently required to perform tasks using a low posture, including but not limited to stooping, bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, or squatting
- Position self/ Move: Infrequently required to position self to perform tasks involving but not limited to reaching, twisting, rotating, and pushing/pulling
- Manual Dexterity: Infrequently required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate equipment/machinery/power tools/office productivity equipment
- Ascending/ Descending: Infrequently ascending or descending ladders/stairs/scaffolding/ramps/poles
- Observation/ Eyesight: Infrequently required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors
- Communication: Frequently required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls
- Travel: required to travel (up to X%) and work extended hours when necessary.
