We are seeking a strategic and principled leader to oversee the governance, risk management, and ethical deployment of artificial intelligence systems across the organization. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing frameworks that ensure AI technologies are used responsibly, comply with regulatory requirements, and align with our core values.

What you will do:



  • Risk & Compliance

    • Develop and maintain AI risk management frameworks, including model risk assessments, bias audits, and explainability standards.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with global AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, U.S. AI Bill of Rights, etc.).
    • Collaborate with legal, data privacy, and cybersecurity teams to ensure AI systems meet internal and external compliance requirements.
    • Lead internal audits and assessments of AI systems and vendors.


  • Ethics & Governance

    • Chair an AI Risk Review Committee to evaluate high-impact AI use cases.
    • Define and promote ethical principles for AI development and deployment (e.g., fairness, transparency, accountability).
    • Create and maintain documentation and reporting mechanisms for ethical AI practices.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, academia, and civil society, to stay ahead of emerging ethical concerns.


  • Policy & Training

    • Draft and maintain AI governance policies, including acceptable use, data sourcing, and human oversight.
    • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on responsible AI use.
    • Advise product and engineering teams on ethical design and risk mitigation strategies.


  • Strategy & Innovation

    • Stay informed on emerging AI technologies, risks, and regulatory trends.
    • Provide strategic guidance on AI adoption and innovation while balancing risk and compliance.
    • Support cross-functional teams in embedding ethical AI principles into product lifecycle and business operations.





What you will bring:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Ethics, Data Science, Computer Science, Public Policy, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, data governance, or AI ethics.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and their societal implications.
  • Familiarity with global AI regulatory frameworks and standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing at the executive level.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government).
  • Certifications in AI governance, data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM), or risk management.
  • Published work or thought leadership in AI ethics or policy.


Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $127,500 - $218,600 and in Deerfiled, IL, is between $121,500 - $208,200. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions. In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee. Details will be discussed through the application process.
