National Grid is hiring a Residential Energy Efficiency Business Specialist for our Energy Efficiency & Clean Programs Department. This position can be based in Massachusetts.

Job Purpose

National Grid is committed to delivering safe, reliable products and services that support State energy goals and initiatives. This role is part of our Residential Customer Delivery Team that manages the implementation of our nation-leading energy efficiency services branded under Mass Save.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare and submit vendor invoices for payments through the Company's energy efficiency tracking system: review measures, savings, incentives, and pricing for eligibility and accuracy.
  • Conduct additional quality control checks on each vendor invoice submission to ensure compliance with all program/contract guidelines and accounts payable principles.
  • Follow up with vendors to collect additional documentation needed to support a payment, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot energy efficiency tracking system payment issues.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with vendor accounting, finance, and incentive processing teams to drive payment processing improvements.
  • Maintain automated data analysis tools to monitor performance for contracted KPIs, program incentives and savings, and payment trends.
  • Assist Program Managers with monitoring monthly vendor accruals and forecasts. Confirm vendors and subcontractors are submitting accrual information and forecasts with justifiable back up information.
  • Support additional compliance, audit, ethics, finance and regulatory requirements, such as ad hoc information replies to internal/external stakeholders; vendor and subcontractor background checks; and appropriate user access to IT and tracking systems.
  • Provide updates to standard operating procedure documents when process changes are made.
  • Assist Program Managers in problem-solving customer escalations.
  • Represent energy efficiency and support National Grid at events, upon request.
  • Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy efficiency measures and services that apply to programs, technologies and properties. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about the industry!
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Environmental Science or an equivalent field required.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant software, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), along with the ability to learn other programs and applications such as Salesforce and SAP. Advanced Excel skills are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in clean energy and/or a regulated industry is helpful but not required.
  • Proven analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to organize information (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Some travel may be required to vendor sites.
