The Department of Surgery conducts academic and applied research, including developing and implementing new care paradigms through investigator-initiated studies and multicenter studies. The Research Assistant will play a critical role in supporting research initiatives in the department and section through tasks such as protocol preparation, study management, subject enrollment, participant interactions, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.

Responsibilities
1. Research Administration: Assist in preparing and submitting IRB protocols, amendments, and renewals. 2. Study Management: Coordinate ongoing research studies, including participant recruitment, scheduling, and retention efforts. 3. Data Management and Analysis: Assist with data collection, entry, cleaning, and organization for statistical analysis. 4. Dissemination of Research: Assist in preparing presentations, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for conferences and publications. 5. General Support: Manage project timelines and coordinate meetings
Qualifications
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, public health, or other social sciences, or a related field. EXPERIENCE Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously on individual tasks and collaboratively within cross -functional teams to achieve shared goals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with a statistical package including R, Python, SAS or STATA ideal but not required SPECIAL SKILLS Experience with data analysis software ideal but not required (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Stata). Familiarity with IRB processes and ethical research practices. Prior experience in psychiatric or healthcare-related research.
