Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in managing diverse database platforms across large, complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both traditional relational database systems and modern NoSQL technologies, supporting enterprise applications, custom solutions, and DevOps-driven workflows. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems across multiple platforms.
- Support databases for enterprise applications, custom-built applications, and business-critical services.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, security hardening, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and scalability.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues involving multi-tier applications and databases.
- Maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions across diverse database platforms.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to database technology roadmap, recommending upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise Database Administration role.
- 5+ years of application Database Administration support
Preferred
- Professional certifications (Oracle OCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, AWS Database Specialty, MongoDB Certified DBA, etc.).
- Experience working in defense industry
- Military experience
Skills
Core Relational Database Experience:
- Microsoft SQL Server (all major versions, AlwaysOn, clustering, replication).
- Oracle Database (RAC, ASM, Data Guard).
- IBM DB2 (LUW, z/OS).
- MySQL / MariaDB.
- PostgreSQL.
Modern / NoSQL Database Experience:
- MongoDB.
- Cosmo DB (Azure), DynamoDB (AWS).
- Elasticsearch.
Enterprise App & Custom Support:
- Proven experience supporting ERP, CRM, and other enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of custom application integration with databases.
- Knowledge of middleware and API data interactions.
DevOps & Automation:
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl).
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
Additional Skills:
- Data modeling, ETL processes, and BI reporting support.
- Strong security awareness (encryption, access controls, auditing).
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Ability to document processes, standards, and best practices.
