The Manager Health Information Management (HIM) manages daily operations of the HIM Department with diversified duties, which requires knowledge in the technical and managerial aspects of the HIM profession. This role provides senior leadership with the information, tools, and evidence-based practices to build and sustain an efficient HIM department that focuses on satisfying the needs of patients, practitioners, and all other customers.


Assists in managing the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department in order to provide timely, cost-effective service, and guidance to all organization Medical Group (CHMG) practices, customers, and vendors.
Provides senior leadership with the information, tools, and evidence-based practices to build and sustain an efficient HIM department that focuses on satisfying the needs of patients, practitioners, and all other customers.
Successfully achieves department and system objectives, by establishing and maintaining continual productivity standards, quality, and outcome measures.
Assists in the development of HIM related policies, standard operating procedures, strategic planning, and maintaining organizational effectiveness.
Assists in the management of HIM departmental expenses to meet annual budget objectives.
Assures compliance with federal and state regulations, and system policies regarding release of protected health information, HIPAA, and scanning of results documents.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in a healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Preferred: current RHIA/RHIT certification or certification must be completed within 1 year of employment.
