Intern - Sensor Development [Santa Ana, CA]

Iteris is looking for a Sensor Development Intern that will support the engineering team in various aspects of the development cycle. The position will interact with all development functions to ensure projects are kept on schedule. The position will support Algorithm, Firmware, and Test Engineering functions. This role provides exposure to real-world development environments, including lab work, test setup, data collection, and documentation of results.

What you will be doing:

• Assist the Program Manager with updating schedules, reporting on task progress, and following up with teams inside and outside of Engineering
• Work with Test Engineers to troubleshoot test setups and product performance issues
• Prepare systems for bench and field testing
• Work with Algorithm Engineers to evaluate system performance and create reports
• Create annotations for inclusion in AI Engine trained data
• Work with Firmware Engineers to install software, OS, drivers onto test systems
• Aid with stitching videos
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product design, quality, purchasing and manufacturing

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's degree and enrolling in a graduate program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, testing methods, and product development processes
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on engineering setting

Iteris anticipates paying an hourly rate between $23.00 and $28.00 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
