What you'll do:

As a Senior Director - IT Delivery, you'll lead the delivery of technology solutions leveraging partnerships with other technology teams (e.g. Architecture, Infrastructure, Engineering, and Support), business teams and leaders, strategic partners, and third-party technology providers. You'll collaborate with internal business partners to proactively address ongoing customer needs and ensure rapid resolution to open issues. In this role you will foster a collaborative environment with focus on continuous improvement and delivery of programs, projects and agile teams.

This is a senior group leadership role that oversees delivery managers/directors who lead Program Managers, Project Managers, and Scrum Masters. The Sr. Director is accountable for delivery excellence, resource optimization, and measurable business outcomes through disciplined execution and governance.
As a senior leader within Strategy, Portfolio and Delivery Office, the Sr. Director drives delivery excellence, resource optimization, and measurable business outcomes through disciplined project execution and governance.
  • Partner with HR and IT Leadership's to build and implement a strategy for employee development, retention, resource allocation, talent management, performance management, and achieve a diverse and engaged workforce as well as recruit, train, and evaluate staff members' work.
  • Lead budget planning as well as manage budget(s), business cases, execution plans, and operating plans for their respective teams as well as build strategy of the resource plan to achieve established program priorities.
  • Ensure the IT organization as well as the enterprise are proactively providing for risk management and cyber security processes and controls that are in alignment with the risk appetite for the Bank, as well as applicable regulatory and enterprise risk management expectations.
  • Program & Project Delivery
    • Oversee delivery of strategic programs across IT such as payment, lending, infrastructure, digital, mortgage, and enterprise platforms.
    • Ensure adherence to SDLC and PMLC frameworks, with tailored approach for Agile and iterative approaches.
    • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define scope, success metrics, and delivery timelines.
    • Monitor delivery health, manage risks, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Agile Transformation & Execution
    • Partner with Agile Center of Excellence (COE) to evolve Agile practices across IT.
    • Drive adoption of Agile roles, rituals, and reporting across delivery teams.
    • Support Agile maturity assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure delivery practices meet regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., FFIEC, COBIT).
    • Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to embed controls into delivery lifecycles.
    • Maintain delivery dashboards and executive reporting for transparency and accountability.
    • Provide mentorship to grow the talent, and onboarding of delivery roles.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead a multi-tiered delivery organization, including line managers/directors who oversee Program Managers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers.
    • Foster leadership development and succession planning across delivery leadership layers.
    • Collaborate with IT divisions to ensure consistency in project management practices.

What you'll need:

  • 15+ years in IT delivery leadership roles, including program management and Agile execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing other senior leaders or directors within a delivery organization. Demonstrated ability to scale delivery operations and lead organizational change.
  • Advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • PMP, SAFe, or PgMP certifications preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise tools (e.g., Planview, Workfront, Jira, Azure DevOps) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
