Library Assistant IV - User Accounts Coordinator at
The University of Texas at Dallas plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the University Library's Access & Delivery Services. This position contributes to the library's mission of providing exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff by supervising both full-time employees and student assistants, managing user account processes, and ensuring accurate daily staffing schedules.
As a key member of the team, the coordinator also serves as the supervisor on duty, ensuring service points are fully staffed, resolving issues promptly, and helping library workflows start smoothly each week. | Minimum Education and Experience |
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a library setting; or any comparable combination of education, supervisory training or experience, and practical experience may be considered

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate student assistants and full-time Access & Delivery Services staff.
- Serve as the supervisor on duty, providing leadership, support, and oversight during opening operations.
- Oversee all aspects of user account management, including patron records, borrowing privileges, and problem resolution.
- Serve as the primary contact for fine appeals, ensuring fair and consistent handling of patron account issues.
- Manage TexShare accounts, including establishing and maintaining accounts, tracking borrowing statistics, and invoicing partner libraries as needed.
- Handle Orion holds by reviewing, processing, and clearing library-related registration blocks in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update the daily staff schedule, ensuring adequate coverage across all Access & Delivery Services desks and functions.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and the department head to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices related to circulation and user services.
- Assist with statistical reporting, data tracking, and process improvements related to account services and scheduling.
- Provide excellent customer service and uphold library and university policies when interacting with patrons, staff, and campus partners.

Work will be performed on-site and in person.
Schedule and Physical Requirements Standard work hours are
Monday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours may be adjusted seasonally during Finals Week and the Winter and Summer terms to align with changes in library operating hours.
