Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Chemistry Supervisor is responsible for supervising activities including planning, coordinating, scheduling, disciplining, evaluating, and monitoring within the assigned area. Clinical Laboratory Services provides an array of timely and accurate diagnostic testing and other services to Baptist Health Corbin's patients, and to other patients and organizations in support of the facilities mission, vision and strategic priorities.

  • Conducts meetings and supports staff communication.

  • Adjusts staffing and handles disciplinary actions.

  • Operational Excellence (Weight: 15%)

  • Ensures regulatory compliance and updates procedures.

  • Leads quality management and safety programs.

  • Implements improvements and resolves testing issues.

  • Maintains compliance, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree plus five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

  • Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (ACSP); Medical Laboratory Technician (ACSP), MLS (ASCP), CLS (NCA) or equivalent. Must meet the minimum requirements outlined by CLIA 88.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
