JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Senior AI (Artificial Intelligence) Engineer I designs, develops, and deploys enterprise-scale AI solutions that drive business impact across Starkey. This role leads cross-functional initiatives, mentors team members, and develops the AI technology roadmap aligned with strategic objectives. The Senior AI Engineer ensures all AI solutions meet healthcare technology standards and data privacy requirements, and drives change management for successful AI adoption.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions using modern frameworks and cloud platforms
  • Develop AI-powered automation tools for manufacturing, translation, and business processes
  • Create proof-of-concepts and MVPs to validate AI use cases before full-scale implementation
  • Develop the AI technology roadmap aligned with company strategic objectives
  • Build business cases for AI investments with clear metrics and success criteria
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate AI into existing workflows and systems
  • Present AI project outcomes and ROI to executive leadership
  • Mentor team members and build AI literacy across the organization
  • Establish AI evaluation frameworks including A/B testing, drift monitoring, and performance metrics
  • Implement and optimize RAG systems for knowledge management and customer support
  • Ensure all AI solutions meet healthcare technology standards and data privacy requirements
  • Drive change management initiatives to ensure successful AI adoption
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into software products


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years with B.S. or related experience, or 5 years with M.S. or 2 years with PhD


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms (Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Claude, etc.)
  • Git, GitHub Copilot, modern IDEs
  • AI model evaluation and performance monitoring
  • Experience driving, defining, and implementing AI process improvements
  • Azure deployment and management experience, familiarity with AWS and GCP
  • Database Technologies: SQLite, vector databases for RAG applications
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Data processing frameworks (Pandas, Spark)
  • Web Development: Vue.js, FastAPI, RESTful API design
  • AI Applications: LLMs, RAG systems, AI-powered automation
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures
  • MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines
  • SDLC and agile methodologies

Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $124,740 - $141,750 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for monthly uncapped commissions in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
