Job Details

ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware is searching for an experienced and dynamic Emergency Medicine Physician Leaderto serve as the Site Medical Director for our Newark Campus Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Newark Campus ED operations, including provider staffing, throughput coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Align clinical practices with quality and safety standards across ChristianaCare Emergency Departments

  • Integrate educational needs for EM, EM/FM, and EM/IM residency programs into operations at Newark Campus ED

  • Support regulatory and accreditation readiness (e.g., Trauma, Stoke, STEMI designations)

  • Champion quality improvement, risk management, and Just Culture principles

  • Partner with ED and nursing leadership to improve patient experience and operational efficiency

Position Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution

  • Board-certified (ABEM or ABOEM)

  • Active medical licensure or eligibility in Delaware

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience preferred

Annual Compensation Range $331,059.00 - $441,381.00 The above compensation range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting for full-time hours in the respective specialty. The actual compensation within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation the fair market value for physician services in the relevant specialty and the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, credentials, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. The compensation range listed may encompass various forms of applicable compensation for this position, including, but not limited to, productivity incentives, value-based incentives and other ancillary forms of compensation dependent upon operational factors such as hours worked, call coverage and other factors. ChristianaCare will offer compensation at an appropriate point within the above range or, less frequently, may offer a level of compensation outside the listed range as warranted by the circumstances.
