The Industrial Pump Technician will work on and rebuild rotating equipment. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to: pipe fitting, manual machine work, material handling, measurements, vibration analysis, electrical work, laser alignment, installation, and system analysis. Physical Job Location on-site at in Metropolis, IL. Real ID Required for job position.

What You'll Do:



  • Remove and install new rotating equipment.
  • Perform maintenance/repair activities on rotating equipment, including equipment alignments.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose possible reason(s) for failure.
  • Provide information on parts and additional work required.
  • Operate and maintain a service truck, including maintenance, repairs, tooling, and maintaining material inventory.
  • Travel to customer sites and stay overnight as needed.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Document each assignment, including pictures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What You'll Need:



  • High school education required; Associate degree/certification in mechanics preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the maintenance/repair of rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, motors, gearboxes).
  • Ability to use precision equipment (dial indicators, mics, calipers).
  • Ability to read and understand dimensional drawing, exploded view drawings, and cut section drawings.
  • Ability to travel to customers' sites and stay overnight as needed; attend training trips in other shops as needed.
  • Capable of working independently with little or no supervision.
  • General knowledge of PC and ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
  • Ability to work on electrical components preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Systems and Programs preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and understand dimensional drawing, exploded view drawings, and cut section drawings.
  • Ability to complete required safety training classes and comply with OSHA, MSHA or any authority having jurisdiction
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to work overtime or on call to satisfy customer requests
  • Able to travel to other locations for temporary assignments, meetings, and training involving some overnight travel required.
  • Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, supporting team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team.
