POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for implementation and administration of human resources policies and procedures in support of the overall business, specifically in the areas of employee recruitment, retention, and relations as well as benefits and compensation. The HR Manager assists corporate managers and occasionally assists subsidiaries with HR issues. The HR Manager must demonstrate commitment to the organization's goals and act in the best interests of the organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, and successful completion of PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Proven working experience as a Human Resources Manager
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources



KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of human resources policies, employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally interact with individuals across our business, the overall corporation and outside vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Strong computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Paylocity HRIS software preferred.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting and retention.
  • Effectively integrate and administer HR policies and programs including performance reviews, performance management and improvement, employee benefits, annual open enrollment, etc.
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, company culture, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Supports the implementation of the organization's compensation program by obtaining wage surveys, comparing to local markets and making recommendations to corporate leadership.
  • Works with the organization's benefit broker and assists leadership in evaluating recommendations from benefit providers/partners regarding benefit contract proposals, etc.
  • Responsible for administration of the organization's affirmative action program; oversees annual EEO-1 as well as related reports to ensure compliance with EEO and government regulations.
  • Collaborates with and assists departmental and hiring managers in the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Assist and advise leadership with respect to recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent (orientation, retention, development, retirements, and terminations)
  • Collaborates with and assists managers/supervisors on coaching, performance improvement and disciplinary meetings, when necessary.
  • Work with the Strategic Planning Manager to develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to be presented to leadership.
  • Collaborates with and assists the Legal Department to effectuate annual legal training for managers and supervisors at the company and all subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for HR department records and developing HR reports for Board meetings.
  • Makes recommendations to the leadership team for implementing new approaches, policies and/or procedures to improve productivity and/or efficiencies by creating cost/benefit and return on investment analyses to demonstrate the financial justifications for doing so.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state employment law requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings when needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.



ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, or temperature changes



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent computer use at workstation of up to two hours at a time
  • Mobility within the office, which includes movement from one department to another
  • Must be able to access files in file cabinets
  • Use of office equipment
  • Some travel both vehicle and air



JOB STATUS: Full Time

FLSA: Exempt

NORMAL WORK HOURS: The hours of this Exempt position may be varied, based on schedule and work load.
