OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer and serving as a key member of the HR Leadership Team, the Head of People Experience will lead the strategic transformation of Alnylam's HR function. This newly created global role will oversee the development and delivery of scalable People Operations and Employee Relations capabilities, while managing a shared HRBP team. The position is based in Cambridge and will require close collaboration across HR Centers of Excellence and business leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and lead a global People Experience function that delivers high-impact People Operations and People Relations support across the enterprise.
  • Design and implement a tiered People Operations model leveraging digital tools, automation, and self-service capabilities to enhance HR service delivery.
  • Establish and oversee a robust Employee Relations function that promotes fairness, inclusion, and accountability while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of professionals across the U.S. and international locations, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CHRO and HR Leadership Team, driving organizational effectiveness, team performance, and cultural transformation.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to align people strategies with business goals and accelerate enterprise performance.
  • Define and track KPIs and HR metrics to measure the impact of People Experience initiatives and inform continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years broad and progressive human resources leadership experience including direct HRBP experience and Shared Services/HR Operations with Employee Relations expertise in high-growth organizations recognized for best practices in HR. Demonstrated track record of advancement in roles with increasing scope and responsibilities. COE experience a plus.
  • Proven success leading global teams and implementing enterprise-wide HR transformation initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and experience aligning HR strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Proven success implementing large-scale organizational change including cross-functional and enterprise-wide HR initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
  • Management of shared resources with high service levels through various delivery platforms including automation, self-service, tiered HR support, and escalation of more complex issues preferred.
  • Strategic thinker: demonstrated ability translate business strategy into actionable HR goals and business solutions, aligning people initiatives with enterprise objectives.
  • Self-starter: independently manages multiple projects and deadlines; excellent attention to detail and execution skills.
  • Solid business acumen with financial literacy, including corporate strategy, P&L orientation, and budget experience with a deep understanding of how business strategies impact people and culture.
  • Demonstrated competence in thinking strategically, analytically, conceptually, and innovatively. Adept at simplifying complex issues, exercising sound judgment, and resolving challenges.
  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, technology, or similarly specialized industries preferred.

U.S. Pay Range

$289,000.00 - $391,000.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
