Division of Animal Sciences

Job Description

The University of Missouri's Division of Animal Sciences seeks an experienced Business Support Specialist Sr to help manage divisional fiscal operations. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial and operational records associated with division managed facilities, vehicles, and service accounts, including direct oversight of fiscal processes and related functions that support the division's overall efficiency and accountability.

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include:

Procurement/Income Management

  • Review and approve requisitions, vouchers and one-card charges for division related expenses, ensuring fiscal policy is followed and proper documentation is provided
  • Process non-catalog requisitions and equipment purchases as requested
  • Process CRR and ARR deposits as various checks, wire transfers and cash are received

Fiscal Oversight, Administration and Reporting

  • Review, approve and reconcile monthly expenditures in the financial system for allowability, accuracy and proper documentation
  • Research expenditures and process appropriate expense corrections when necessary
  • Process journal entries, correcting entries and transfer journal entries as needed
  • Process, review for accuracy, and distribute monthly financial reports to faculty and staff
  • Inform and assist faculty, staff and students regarding funding availability, account usage, fiscal and purchasing policies, and other university processes as needed

Division Facility Account Management

  • Prepare and process monthly billing and internal service entries for division service accounts, including copier, poster printer, vehicle usage, building/farm/center fees, and laboratory services
  • Track and evaluate monthly income and expense data to assist management in establishing fee schedules and making informed decisions about facility costs and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and reconcile the divisional utilities purchasing card for all utility expenses at outlying farms managed by Animal Sciences, ensuring proper documentation, account coding, and timely payment of invoices.
  • Manage and track all information related to division-owned vehicles, including usage, maintenance, parking, WEX fuel cards, and other associated requirements.

Other related fiscal duties as assigned

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87 -$26.00/hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
