Job Summary

Formulates and defines system service and support scope and objectives for the Academic Advising degree audit system, Degree Planner and Course Auditor planning and analysis tools. Devises procedures to solve problems related to Academic Degree Audit services considering system limitations, operating time, and required deadlines. Guides and advises Business Analysts within the office and externally as needed to enhance Degree Audit data interfaces and services. Works at the highest technical level of most phases of degree audit and academic advising systems analysis in aspects of degree audit development, and system and service enhancement.

  • Coordinates and guides Applications Business Analysts in performing system troubleshooting in a staging and production support environments for PeopleSoft Academic Advising Module, Academic Advising Bolt-on Modules, and other third-party Academic Advising support product interfaces.
  • Plans and coordinates end-user instruction, training, and support to resolve application issues related to academic degree audit, academic advising bolt-on and/or interfacing support systems.
  • Designs and formulates solutions to address a wide scope of technical, support and information needs for the University's academic advising efforts.
  • Provides project management and leadership in collaborative projects between the Academic Advising information consumers and the technical development team members addressing data maintenance, upgrade, or solution delivery processes.
  • Leads and guides to Applications Business Analysts to evaluate and develop logical workflows which are configured by internal staff and by external software services in order to provide synchronized data and information across the Degree Audit, Degree Planner and Course Auditor tools.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the PeopleSoft Academic Advising Degree Audit system in reflecting current degree requirements and university policies as outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog and as per BOG regulations.
  • Serves as the PepoleSoft Academic Advising degree audit liaison between the undergraduate advising community and technical development team members.
  • Guides business analysts in synthesizing PeopleSoft academic advising module and academic advising bolt-on module enhancements for functional and technical requirement upgrades.
  • Plans and provides guidance for product usability and focus group meetings with Academic Advising end-users to evaluate and improve product development and delivery of information and technology services to meet the University's Academic Advising efforts.
  • Interprets University Academic rules and policies related to Academic Advising information systems and applies findings to configure Degree Audit and academic advising bolt-on and/or interfacing system rules and set up values.
  • Provides guidance and approval to business analysts in Designing and Producing documentation and manuals for Degree Audit and Academic Advising support tools.
  • Recommends procedural changes by preparing workflow charts and business flow diagrams to specify in detail business processes supported by PeopleSoft Academic Advising Module and other interfacing systems. Recommends new procedures in compliance to policies related to the Panther Degree Audit and related Academic Advising Data support, as well as provides support to ensure accuracy of data into Academic Advising systems.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in related field.



Desired Qualifications
  • Direct, advanced experience with a major Student Information System (SIS), preferably PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Academic Advisement Module.
  • Experience with academic planning tools.
  • In-depth functional knowledge of university academic advising processes, curriculum structures, and degree requirement policies.
  • Familiarity with query tools (like SQL) to analyze data and troubleshoot system issues related to academic planning systems.
