Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a Senior Content Management System (CMS) Operations Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise CMS operations in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role owns the stability, security, and performance of the CMS platform, ensuring that content delivery, user experiences, integrations, and system enhancements meet mission and operational requirements. The CMS Operations Lead is responsible for platform uptime, release management, cybersecurity alignment, technical roadmap execution, and coordination with infrastructure, security, and application development teams. This position provides senior-level oversight of operational processes, enhancements, governance, and continuous improvement for a high-visibility enterprise CMS ecosystem. Duties & Responsibilities
The CMS Operations Lead will:
Lead all CMS operational activities, ensuring platform availability, stability, performance, and security across production and non-production environments.
- Oversee release cycles, including planning, validation, deployment coordination, and post-release monitoring.
- Manage and enforce CMS governance processes, configuration standards, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align CMS operations with DoD cybersecurity policies, patching requirements, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure hosting environments, integrations, and cloud or on-prem resources support CMS scalability and reliability.
- Oversee CMS enhancements, feature improvements, and integration updates, ensuring alignment with mission needs.
- Maintain operational dashboards, reporting metrics, incident trends, and performance analytics for government stakeholders.
- Lead incident response for CMS-related issues, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Manage system access controls, content workflows, configuration changes, and operational permissions in accordance with federal requirements.
- Facilitate daily and weekly operational syncs, sprint reviews, and planning sessions with technical and functional teams.
- Support user experience improvements, UI modifications, and content workflow enhancements.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts, documenting SOPs, knowledge base entries, and operational guidance.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
- Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.
Education (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Communications, IT Management, or a related field.
Experience (Required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in CMS operations, enterprise IT operations, or systems management.
- Experience leading large-scale CMS or digital platform operations in a federal or DoD environment.
- Demonstrated success managing release cycles, platform enhancements, and operational governance.
- Experience coordinating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on security controls, patching, and compliance.
- Experience managing uptime requirements, performance monitoring, and incident resolution for enterprise systems.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
- Deep understanding of CMS administration, configuration, workflows, integrations, and operational best practices.
- Strong familiarity with ITIL v4 operational processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, patching processes, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with monitoring tools, log analysis, and performance analytics.
- Knowledge of cloud-based hosting models and infrastructure support patterns.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
- Experience with Agile delivery methods, backlog management, and cross-team coordination.
- Familiarity with modern development practices, CI/CD pipelines, or DevSecOps workflows.
- Experience with headless CMS approaches or API-first architectures.
Certifications Required:

- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP)
