Overview
DecisionPoint seeks CMS Administrators to manage enterprise Content Management System configuration, governance, workflows, and administrative operations in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. These positions are responsible for managing user roles and permissions, configuring content types and metadata structures, maintaining workflows, performing content migrations, and troubleshooting administrative-level CMS issues. The CMS Administrator ensures CMS integrity, consistency, and compliance by managing platform settings, content structures, and operational processes that support day-to-day mission activities and content lifecycle management. Duties & Responsibilities
The CMS Administrator will:
Manage user accounts, access roles, and permission models in alignment with governance requirements.
- Configure CMS settings, workflows, content types, metadata models, and taxonomy structures.
- Support content migrations, bulk updates, and structured content operations across the platform.
- Troubleshoot admin-level CMS issues including publishing errors, workflow breaks, permissions conflicts, and configuration gaps.
- Maintain CMS governance rules, configuration standards, and administrative documentation.
- Collaborate with developers and architects to validate new features, integrations, and platform enhancements.
- Monitor system behavior, identify issues, and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support CMS release readiness by validating admin functions, workflow stability, and configuration accuracy.
- Create, update, and maintain operational guidelines, SOPs, and training materials for content administrators and editors.
- Assist with metadata optimization, content structure improvements, and search-related configuration updates.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, discussions with PMO staff, and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement Must hold an active Top Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 5 background investigation. Education (Required) Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Digital Media, Web Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering enterprise CMS platforms or digital content systems.
- Experience configuring CMS content types, taxonomy structures, metadata models, and workflow settings.
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and role-based access controls.
- Experience troubleshooting CMS administrative issues, workflow failures, or configuration inconsistencies.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
- Strong understanding of CMS administration, configuration settings, and backend content structures.
- Knowledge of metadata modeling, taxonomy design, and content lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with CMS governance, workflow automation, and content publishing processes.
- Understanding of ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
- Experience with content migration tools, bulk update scripts, or structured content operations.
- Familiarity with search indexing, metadata optimization, and CMS-integrated search tools.
- Experience supporting cloud-hosted CMS environments or containerized deployments.
Certifications Required:
Preferred:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP)
- CMS platform-specific administrator certifications (if applicable)
