Job Description

This position will support the evaluation, implementation and maintenance of the Wellness Program by consistently comparing the program's structure, actions and resources to the needs of the students and guidelines set forth by the LCME and AAMC. This position will report to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, the supervisor of the Wellness Program.

Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain LCME Records that will support the School of Medicine's LCME review
  • In collaboration with the Associate and Assistant Deans, create, implement, and maintain a budget for the Wellness Program
  • Manage and support students as liaison for Timelycare-UMKC.
  • Data Management: Organize and store data from wellness surveys/evaluations
  • Address issues that arise around the processes of student wellness support
  • Communicate with students, faculty, staff through email, text, in person and virtual in regards to Wellness Program administrative topics.

Business Management Support:

  • Assist with defining the scope and need for wellness at the School of Medicine including the review of UMKC policies, LCME guidelines, and assessments around wellness.
  • Support the improvement of the Wellness Program Structure.
  • Support the continuous development and maintenance of resources related to supporting multiple dimensions of wellness
  • Create outcomes to evaluate and measure processes of the Wellness Program and its impact
  • Review and revise Wellness Program based off of outcome measures

Wellness Leadership & Student Support:

  • Represent UMKC School of Medicine Wellness for National and Regional associations and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus partners (students, staff, faculty, and departments) related to supporting student Wellness and resources
  • Facilitate engagements and presentations for students, faculty, and physicians
  • Inform student body of Wellness Program resources and structure
  • Provide one-on-one student support, coaching, and guidance to Wellness Resources.
  • Attend annual training workshops/ programs to maintain skills, learn innovative wellness strategies, and be up to date on new guidelines & barriers in wellness.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Higher Education preferred

Experience in counseling, advising, health & wellness, or related fields preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$52,915.20 - $64,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
