Job Description

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Intern will support various functions within procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning. This hands-on role is ideal for a student or early-career candidate seeking real-world experience in aerospace manufacturing supply chain operations. The intern will assist with purchase order processing, vendor communication, data analysis, inventory tracking, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role provides exposure to key supply chain workflows while contributing to cost-effective, efficient, and on-time operational performance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Procurement Support

  • Assist with preparing, issuing, and tracking purchase orders to ensure timely acquisition of materials and services.
  • Support vendor communication, including gathering quotes, following up on deliveries, and verifying order accuracy.
  • Help maintain supplier records and participate in vendor performance reviews.
  • Participate in identifying cost-saving opportunities through data analysis and market research.

Inventory & Production Coordination

  • Assist with monitoring inventory levels, reviewing stock status reports, and organizing replenishment needs for critical supplies.
  • Support just-in-time inventory control initiatives to reduce waste and prevent shortages.
  • Help track status of outside processing orders and follow up on expected delivery timelines.

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform time studies, data collection, and analysis to support process improvement projects.
  • Assist with updating key performance metrics including earned standard hours, production throughput, and inventory accuracy.
  • Help identify opportunities for workflow efficiency, reduced cost, or improved supplier performance.
  • Support documentation and implementation of new procedures or process changes.

Required Skills:

  • Interest in supply chain, procurement, operations, or manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to communicate clearly-both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Experience & Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or supply chain (internships, coursework, projects) is a plus but not required.
  • Cumulative G.P.A of 2.8 or higher.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.00 to $22.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 40 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
