Job Description

Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton KY, provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton MI facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers; for the raw material needs of the Worcester MA forge Isothermal forge shop. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC).

POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Planner/Supervisor


PURPOSE:

The Manufacturing Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant equipment and facilities. This role serves as the key liaison between maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The role will have hands on troubleshooting responsibilities throughout the facility to assist the maintenance manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Prioritize work orders based on production needs, safety concerns, and equipment criticality.
  • Plan and coordinate downtime with production and operations to minimize impact on manufacturing output.
  • Review incoming maintenance requests, define scope of work, and assign appropriate labor and materials.
  • Track progress, completion, and follow-up actions for all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance history and equipment records within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Develop and improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs based on manufacturer recommendations and historical data.
  • Incorporate predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.) to identify early equipment issues.
  • Monitor PM compliance and effectiveness, driving continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.
    • Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Degree highly preferred
  • Thorough technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Proven track record of maintenance planning and project management
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Heavy Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or forging preferred)
  • Union shop experience preferred
  • Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Plant working conditions: hazardous, dirty and subject to weather and temperature extremes.
  • Serve on an on-call basis (24/7), responding to issues and concerns.
