Overview (Scope of Role)

The Process Automation Engineer will be owner of process control system and involved in development and implementation of process control strategy, code, operator interfaces, and simulation for capital and small improvement projects.

This is an onsite position based in Dalton, GA .



Responsibilities

    Develop Process Control Strategy Documentation.
  • Develop Process Control Coding and functional specifications (DCS) and Operator Interface graphics.
  • Develop Simulation Code to test Process Control code and for training purposes.
  • Give training on the assigned areas.
  • Process Control program loading, plant startup assistance, controller tuning and other adjustments.
  • Improve Process Control performance.
  • Develop knowledge of Latex operation process
  • Driver of Improvements of process control KPI's (alarm reductions, Exceptions, manual intervention)
  • Will be required to cover on-call one week a month
  • Provide support to plant operations beyond core responsibilities when needs arise, ensuring continuity and safety of production.
  • Participation in plant teams and safety initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
  • 3-5+ years Manufacturing or Engineering experience preferred, but we also encourage recently graduated engineers to apply.
  • Good computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Team player
  • Occasional travel may be needed.
  • Experience with ABB 800XA is preferred.
  • Knowledge of other system like Delta V, siemens would be a plus
