Brands supported within the AM segment include: Alumicor, EFCO, Linetec, and Tubelite. The posted position is dedicated to the anodize and paint facilities at our Linetec brand. Position Summary Develop and implement equipment and processes to manufacture products to design specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls as it relates to safety, quality, productivity and cost. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for equipment and processes in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with peers in the development and implementation of process best practices throughout AM.
- Advanced troubleshooting of metallurgical/chemical problems in the Anodize and Paint processes.
- Maintaining and improving process control for Anodize, Paint and Environmental compliance processes.
- Research, propose and implement manufacturing equipment and technologies to advance process capabilities and efficiencies.
- Coordinate with internal and external sources for development of production tooling and equipment.
- Manage projects with varying degree of scope, inclusive of specifying, selecting, justifying, and implementing capital equipment or enhancement of existing equipment.
- Responsible for project documentation including specifications, 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, schedules, and presentations to capture and communicate plans achieve defined project goals.
- Accountable for project execution, timeline and budget
- Support business safety goals by participating in safety programs and implementing process improvement projects.
- Support, lead and participate in cross-functional teams to problem-solve and implement solutions; facilitate team building.
- Provide information to aid in manufacturing decision making including production labor and material costs.
- Develop and maintain written procedures and work instructions for assigned areas of responsibility.
Experience & Skills Education:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, process or manufacturing engineering related field
- Minimum of five years' related experience.
Required Skills
- Strong project management skills
- Team leadership skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies (kaizen, 8-step, 5S, etc.)
- Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- AutoCAD (preferred)
- Understand MRP/ERP systems
- Interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
- Light ad hoc travel
- Mechanical aptitude: tooling and manufacturing equipment
Work Environment/Travel Requirements
- Mostly an office environment with regular visits to the manufacturing floor.
- The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
