Job Summary:

This 0.05 FTE adjoint Senior Instructor position is essential to advancing the strategic mission of the RESTORE Team and its broader institutional goals of research translation, clinical excellence, education, and community engagement. The role integrates teaching and outreach by bridging academic research, clinical practice, and public engagement through innovative educational methods and creative dissemination.

This position serves as a bridge between RESTORE's scientific work, the research community, and the public. Through storytelling, creative media, and relationship-building, it will help connect research, clinical care, and older adult health span optimization with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with education, curriculum development, and teaching with a focus on translating rehabilitation research into accessible instructional materials and learning experiences.

* Develop and deliver content that supports trainee skill-building, integrates RESTORE research findings, and highlights best practices in rehabilitation science.

* Serve as both a host and production contributor for the RESTORE Team's podcast, a key platform for sharing research with clinicians, researchers, and the public.

* Expand RESTORE's research and clinical innovations to broader audiences, emphasizing older adult health span optimization and rehabilitation outcomes through storytelling, creative media, and relationship-building.

* Engage effectively with philanthropic partners and community stakeholders.

Work Location:

Remote - this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States and must be onsite as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or a lower-level physical therapy degree with a terminal degree (such as PhD, DSc, DHS, EdD, or equivalent).

* Experience in rehabilitation research and disseminating research to broad audiences via various media such as broadcasting, podcasts, and other creative media.

* Experience in translating rehabilitation research into accessible instructional materials and learning experiences.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Demonstrated experience with communications: e.g. public-speaking, radio and/ or podcast hosting and production.

* Experience in engaging effectively with philanthropic partners and community stakeholders.

* Clinical experience treating patients

* Experience in curriculum development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Communicating complex findings in accessible language for patients, caregivers, or the public.

* Collaborating with clinicians to implement evidence-based practices.

* Engaging with stakeholders (e.g., policymakers, funders, community leaders) to inform decision-making.

* Using media (like podcasts or storytelling) to share research impact and relevance.

* Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and stakeholders at all levels throughout the institution and in the community.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$48.56 - $53.37 per hour

Prorated Senior Instructor Salary for .05 FTE

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
